Our History
In 1971 Dutchmaster Nurseries was born. It was founded by Henry Tillaart Sr., a Dutch immigrant who had been working in local landscape industry and growing trees in his spare time.
As the years passed, what started as a hobby farm became Henry’s full time job. The hard work and dedication that Henry and his family had put into the business began to pay off and the business grew. He had begun a legacy that continues on today.
Dutchmaster Nursery remains a family-owned business to this day. Currently being managed by second and third generation family members, we at Dutchmaster have made it our mission to ensure that the mindset that brought us to where we are today remains true.
We now cultivate over 1600 acres of land mostly in the Durham Region. Originally specializing in caliper trees, we have since branched out to grow a vast selection of shrubs and perennials.
As we continue to progress and move forward, we hope to continue serving you with the best quality plants and service that you have come to expect.
